The food was good and the service cheerful and prompt. The dance floor was tented with white curtains, which managed to create a feeling both exotic and traditional for the bride and groom's first dance. The reception was held in the basement, also very well done. Not out doors, but a nice set up, with stained glass panels and a little dome with chandelier in the center of the room that reminded me of the center of the Healy and Millet dome in the Chicago Cultural Center or of the ones at the Grand Floridian in Disney World, except much closer. The people at the Syndicate were on the ball and had the back up chapel (I suppose it's called) all set up in. The wedding was originally planned to be out by the World Peace Bell, but it started pouring perhaps a half hour before. Please don't ruin your event by holding it here. The staff that served on the day were very nice, but they were working for a bonus tip, since I found out in the billing statement that no gratuity was included, although I had been assured that 20% was built in to our final bill as a gratuity for the serving staff. We were charged over $30 a person for this inedible display of disgusting food, even though it was supposed to be $19.95 per person. My Dessert and coffee bar was store bought cookies and a constantly empty coffee urn.

The chef's Vegetable of the day" was canned green beans. I got cold soggy breaded chicken in some kind of yellow sauce that was supposed to be "champagne chicken". I paid for roast beef.we got penne pasta with salty brown gravy that had a few food stringy pieces of deli roast beef floating in it. The food was cold and not AT ALL what I was told would be served. this process and when i tried to discuss my problems with the owner, she just smiled vaguely and handed me a bill. My contact person was never available, I was overcharged on every single item involved in. I just held a charity fundraiser there for Toys For Tots, and I cannot even find the words to describe how disappointed I have been in dealing with this facility. why did we spend the extra money for the VIP room? More If the carpet was redone it'd be a cute little venue. The centerpieces were cute, the carpet was. To top it all off, the other people at our table took our champagne and party hats / buzzers while we were dancing so we didn't even get that. The food was average, we could have seen the and most any other weekend, and it was overcrowded. Now I get that it's NYE and everyone gets crazy but there comes a point where this behavior is just annoying. acting like drunken fools, making out and there were even a few instances of people having sex (yes, really) in a bathroom and in a hallway area.

There were also a LOT twenty somethings that did not know how to behave in public. The bar line was out of control since (again) all the patrons from the other areas were in this area so I'm not sure how much use we got out of the open bar. Late in the evening they put out nachos, but for a room which seated about 200, they put out enough for maybe 100 and by then the room was overcrowded as all the other patrons came up from the other areas. The tickets mentioned appetizers included but as far as I saw it went right into dinner. prime rib was good, everything else I could pass on. The food was typical wedding venue food, tepid buffet. be in the VIP room, but there wasn't anything VIP about it as people from all the other rooms were able to come into ours. The tickets were pricey but included dinner, open bar, and a few other things so I thought what the heck. I had an absolute blast but mostly due to good company and the Rusty Griswolds.
